Noemy Jorge is a bilingual Registered Dietitian, Certified Diabetes Education Specialist (CDCES) with over 14 years of nutrition counseling experience in both clinical and community settings across the country. Noemy is a cookbook author of Food for Thought: A Dominican Story with Recipes, CEO & Founder of Nutrivar, LLC where she sees clients virtually one-on-one through insurance and a traveling dietitian. Her mission is to spread self love, health and healing through intuitive and mindful eating and cultural and weight inclusivity.

Compeer Rochester

Through the power of human connection, Compeer serves as a bridge to better mental health and community integration for all. Supportive relationships can make a big difference in young lives.

Compeer's youth program pairs carefully screened adult volunteer mentors with children, teens, and young adults ages 5–21 living with mental health challenges. Compeer “matches” meet four hours a month in the Rochester community, taking in our region’s diverse cultural, recreational, and educational activities and opportunities.

Excellus BlueCross BlueShield

Excellus BlueCross BlueShield is dedicated to enhancing the health and wellbeing of our communities, creating better places to live, work, play, and raise families.

It focuses on supporting initiatives that address health disparities, social determinants of health, and discrimination impacting members and their neighborhoods. Urban-Suburban partners with Excellus to make families aware of programs like The Purse Project, The Get It Done program, Johnson Park Center, and more. Through partnerships, Excellus strives to make a lasting difference for members.

Monroe County Food Resources and Support

Access food support, community resources, and donation opportunities across our county.

To help ensure that no one goes without food, Monroe One BOCES and Monroe County school districts have partnered to share local and regional food support resources. On this page you’ll find information on where to access food assistance and how to donate to help others during this time. 

If you or someone you know needs immediate assistance, call 2-1-1 for up-to-date information on local food cupboards, pop-up pantries, and community resources.

Rochester Education Foundation

Rochester Education Foundation (REF) collaborates with schools and community partners to fill resource gaps and provide meaningful experiences for Rochester city students. 

The four words that describe REF’s heart and soul are: collaboration, empowerment, access, and success. REF is dedicated to helping students succeed. Its primary focus areas include the Smile Program, College Access and Success, Literacy, and Music and Arts for All.

The Community Place

The Community Place of Greater Rochester, Inc. (CPGR) is a nonprofit agency founded on the belief that everyone should enjoy the same health, economic, and social opportunities no matter who they are or where they live.

CPGR delivers a wide range of social, developmental, and educational programs. You are invited to learn more about the programs and services it provides to the people of Rochester — from children and teenagers to families and seniors to individuals with developmentally disabilities.

Urban League of Rochester

The mission of the Urban League of Rochester, NY, is to enable African-Americans, Latinxs, the poor, and other disadvantaged to secure economic self-reliance, parity and power, and civil rights.

Today, the Urban League of Rochester offers over 25 programs in youth services, services for individuals with developmental disabilities, economic development, employment services, family and children services, education, homeownership, and entrepreneurial assistance.
